The four-car collision occurred on the 3600 block of Pricetown Road at about 6:30 a.m., the outlet wrote. Emergency personnel declared one driver, 61-year-old Wanda Matuszak of Fleetwood, dead at the scene, the report adds.

State police were told by witnesses that a white van was seen driving quickly and illegally passing other cars just before the crash, WFMZ writes. The driver of the van remains hospitalized in critical condition, while two other drivers were treated for minor injuries, they added.

In a statement, Reading Hospital President and CEO Dr. Charles F. Barbera said he was "saddened to learn of the passing of our long-time colleague and friend."

"She was deeply committed to her patients and highly respected for her skill and compassion," he said, per WFMZ.

According to her social media accounts, Matuszak attended Wyalusing Valley Junior-Senior High School before studying nursing at Kutztown University and the Robert Packer School.

The accident remains under investigation.
